Escape from the Threat of Being Blind

Have you ever imagined the situation of living in the dark? Can you imagine how your life will become if you cannot see things clearly and without financial resources to cope it with?

Granny Wong, a 78-year-old elderly, was blind 30 years ago because of pathological changes. Unfortunately, her husband passed away and left her alone to take care of six children. As one of her children is mentally handicapped, she found great pressure in taking care of him. Even though, Granny Wong still has a positive attitude to face her difficulties.

Unfortunately, her right eye has cataract problem as she is getting old. She worries about turning into blind. Waiting for the cataract operation in public hospitals is the only way for her, but the waiting time is at least three to four years. With the launching of the “Free Cataract Surgery Programme”, Granny Wong’s vision is back.
